Players of the National Lottery in the United Kingdom will soon be able to check their lottery numbers instantly via a mobile device once a new QR product being created by Camelot is complete. The operator of the UK National Lottery has announced that QR scanning codes are being added to the tickets for draw-based games to bring together mobile channels and retail sales of lottery products.
Players of the National Lottery will find the QR codes allow for quick scanning of the gaming numbers and will be attached to such options as the EuroMillions, Hotpicks and Thunderball. Reportedly, the lottery company is finishing up the new product and will be launching the QR program via their mobile platform.
With the lottery mobile services now offering a ticket scanning function, Camelot will be able to continue their focus on the inventory available for digital products. Digital services have done well for Camelot, with the full year revenues for 2015 showing a strong player uptake. Tim Copper, the Digital Director for Camelot, commented that the QR product is being introduced based on customer feedback in regards to the mobile options of the operator, according to sbcnews.
