iGaming Business – The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) has awarded new licences to real-money gaming technology provider Gamblit Gaming and online casino and bingo operator White Hat Gaming.
The Gambling (Licensing and Advertising) Act, which came into force in the UK on November 1, requires operators or software providers accepting UK-based players to acquire UK Gambling License in order to accept UK traffic.
Gamblit has received approval from the regulator for its Continuation Remote Operating Licence, which will allow the firm to expand into the UK gaming space for the first time.
The technology provider plans to operate a UK-facing online casino from its Alderney location, pending technical approvals.
“Our Alderney office will be the first to launch truly creative and engaging real money interactive games our team has been hard at work developing,” Gamblit chief executive officer Eric Meyerhofer said.
