English Premier League football team Manchester City has signed a multi-year partnership agreement with Philippine-headquartered Kai-Fa Yule K8.com to have the online gaming company as its regional betting partner in Asia. The partnership will begin with the 2017/18 Premier League season, which the Citizens will kick-off with an away game against Brighton & Hove Albion this August 12th.
Information regarding the financial aspect of the contract hasn’t been released by either party, but what is known at this time is that the operator’s online brand – K8.com – will be promoted on the digiboards at the Citizens’ Etihad Stadium in Manchester during home and away matches. There will also be other promotions for some of K8’s more than 15 million registered users, like trips to see the team play.
The K8.com brand has achieved notable success in the live-streaming of electronic games, baccarat, and sports betting.
The partnership agreement was announced by representatives from K8.com and Manchester City on Wednesday, June 21st, during an event in Manila where K8’s main offices are located.
Damian Willoughby, City Football Group senior vice president of partnerships said: “City has a growing and passionate fan base in Asia and our commercial profile in the region continues to strengthen, supported by offices in Shanghai, Singapore, and Tokyo. This partnership will allow City fans in Asia to interact with the Club in a new and exciting way and we’re looking forward to working together,” according to football news portal Inside World Football.
Michael Mcquade, a representative from K8.com, also commented by saying that the partnership with Manchester City was “the perfect platform” through which K8 could promote their brand since the Premier League was one of the most influential and biggest football leagues in Asia. He added that they are looking forward to being partners with the club and wish the team success during the 2017/18 season.
