English professional football club, West Brom, has entered into its first-ever shirt-sleeve sponsorship deal with sports betting and online casino, 12BET.
The deal with the in-game betting specialist will see the West Bromwich-based football club’s shirts and training wear sporting the 12BET logo just in time for the 2017/18 season Premier League campaign including Saturday’s visit of Bournemouth to The Hawthorns.
It’s The Baggies first partnership with the privately owned online gambling company that was founded in 2007. 12BET’s previous sponsorship deals include Arsenal and Leicester F.C.
The exact cost of the deal has yet to be made public.
Rory Anderson, spokesman for 12BET, said, “We are excited to be the first ever betting company to partner with a Premier League club as both Shirt Arm and Training Wear partner,” according to the club’s press release. And, “The sustained success of West Brom in the Premier League makes them a great fit for 12BET who have a long standing heritage as a recognisable Premier League brand.”
Simon King, West Brom’s Chief Commercial Officer, said, “12BET are a reputable brand with a rich history of working in the Premier League.” King went on to say, “To have been identified as an exciting prospect by the company highlights the growth the club has made globally in recent years.” And, “With strong Asian links continuing to grow, this was instantly recognised as a perfect partnership.”
Managed by Tony Pulis, the West Bromwich Albion Football Club calls the 26,850-capacity all-seater football stadium, The Hawthorns, in West Bromwich, West Midlands, England, home. The 139-year-old football club’s parent organizations are Guangdong Palm Landscape Architecture Co., Ltd. and Yunyi Guokai (Shanghai) Sports Development Limited.
