British image capture and distribution platform provider Picsolve International Limited has signed a five-year deal to provide the giant Studio City Macau integrated casino resort with its immersive green-screen technology for use on several attractions.
Derby-based Picsolve International Limited was established in 1994 to provide theme parks with specialist ride photography and its innovations are currently utilized by attractions around the world including in Asia at Madame Tussauds Singapore and the Legoland Discovery Center in Shanghai.
However, the agreement with Studio City Macau, which is majority-owned by Melco Resorts and Entertainment Limited, represents Picsolve International Limited’s first foray into Macau. The firm stated that the deal marks ‘diversification into new sectors’ along with its ‘continued geographic expansion across the world’.
“We’re delighted to add Studio City Macau to our existing roster of world-class destinations,” read a statement from David Hockley, Interim Chief Executive Officer for Picsolve International Limited. “As more luxury resort developers and entertainment brands invest in the Asia-Pacific region, we hope that they consider the additional revenue opportunities and world-class content experiences we have to offer.”
Picsolve International Limited explained that its technology is to be utilized on the Batman Dark Flight flying simulation ride inside Studio City Macau as well as on the resort’s Golden Reel figure-eight Ferris wheel, which is a world-first and takes passengers on a trip some 426.5 feet into the air.
In addition, the English company declared that it is to provide Studio City Macau with a range of ‘imaging technology and customizable merchandise’ so that visitors can share their experiences via personal and social networks along with ‘all-inclusive digital photo packages, premium photo-books and personalized merchandise’.
David Sisk, Property President for Studio City Macau, described Picsolve International Limited, which also has offices in London, Orlando, Dubai and Hong Kong, as ‘an ideal digital content creation partner’ due to its ‘creativity, enthusiasm and understanding of our key target demographic’.
“I look forward to seeing the creative image concepts come to life at all of our key tourist attractions and welcome our customers to see what our new experiences have to offer,” said Sisk.
