Seneca Fall Poker Classic win goes to Guy Klass

The Card Player Poker Tour recently visited the Seneca Niagara Casino & Resort in New York to host the 2017 CPPT Seneca Fall Poker Classic. The $1,000 No Limit Hold’em Main Event was a huge success with 271 players competing. In the end, it was Guy Klass who earned the first-place finish.

Klass is not a professional poker player but has seen success at the poker table. This year, he won the Western New York Poker Challenge at the Seneca and continued his success at the most recent Card Player event.

According to CardPlayer, Klass began final table play with the shortest chip stack. Only nine players remained and with 139,000 chips to his name, he had only a few big blinds when game play began. He would end up tripling up from the beginning and build a solid chip stack from there. Eliminating Lou Procopio in 6^th place, he would continue to build his stack in the poker tournament, knocking out Hassan Jamil in 3^rd to go to heads-up play against Mark Roberts.

When heads-up play began, Klass would have a 3 to 1 chip lead. On the final hand, the flop would fall A-5-2 with Roberts betting and Klass moving all-in. Roberts would call quickly. Klass showed A-8 off-suit while Roberts held A-5 offsuit, with the two pair lead. However, an 8 would hit on the turn, giving Klass the higher pair and without a five on the river, Klass would secure the first place win with Roberts having to settle for second place.
