Iowa: Senate File 166 has been passed by the state Senate. Now the Iowa House of Representatives will have their say. It is all about allowing fantasy sports legal and separate from gambling. The bill states daily fantasy sports contests cannot be based on high school level events, but that real-money daily fantasy sports contests can continue.
Defenders of the bill said it was more of a game of skill and social gaming, which is different from the definition of casino gambling. The bill also fits federal policy ensuring it does not go against the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. The State Senate agreed, but will the House agree?
