World Poker Tour (WPT) has signed a deal with India’s first private sports channel Zee Sports, part of the Zee Network. WPT will begin airing in September to an estimated five hundred million viewers.

The Zee Network is the South Asian diaspora’s media franchise and the world’s largest producer of Hindi programming. The partnership is anticipated to be powerful as both companies are well trusted in their fields, so for them to introduce poker to India is well founded.

The agreement will air nineteen two hour episodes from the fourth season of WPT alongside current sports programming. They will also be promoting the series online and through on-air ads. Other sports presented include golf, cricket, and soccer.
