American daily fantasy sports and sportsbetting operator, FanDuel Group, has announced the signing of a deal with Sportradar AG that is to see its mobile wagering app feature live streams from a multitude of major soccer and tennis competitions.

Soccer selection:

The innovator used a joint Tuesday press release to reveal that this first-of-its-kind agreement will involve the Live Channel Online service from Sportradar AG being integrated onto its mobile sportsbetting app in order to provide punters with the opportunity to watch a range of live sporting action including European soccer.

New Jersey advantage:

FanDuel Group stated that the innovation is to initially be made available only to aficionados in New Jersey and will involve the marrying of live sports with betting odds in order to allow punters to place a wager on an event they are actually watching live.

Trial triumph:

Niall Connell, Sportsbook General Manager for FanDuel, stated that the full roll-out of a live streaming service for his firm’s mobile sportsbetting app follows the completion of a successful trial involving tennis and is set to provide punters ‘with a first-class betting experience.’

Connell’s statement read…

“By making Sportradar AG’s Live Channel Online available alongside our betting markets, our sportsbook continues to be the premiere sports destination in the ever-growing sportsbetting industry.”

American amplification:

For his part, Neale Deeley, US Sales and Gaming Vice-President for Sportradar AG, used the press release to declare that live streaming is already an entrenched part of sportsbetting services in other parts of the world and that this deal represents the first time that such innovations are to be made available to consumers in the United States.

Deeley’s statement read…

“We are really excited to bring live streaming to the United States market with FanDuel Group. We have been long-standing partners of both FanDuel Group and parent company Paddy Power Betfair across a wide range of betting and fantasy services. We’re proud to be an ongoing part of their United States expansion plans.”
