Caesars Entertainment Corp will now be able to move ahead with demolition plans for the Harrah’s property located in Tunica Mississippi. A bankruptcy judge of Chicago has given the go ahead for the company to begin destruction of the property on March 30th as part of the bankruptcy case of Caesars so they can begin to restructure their debt of close to $20 billion.
It is unknown as to how long the demolition of the property will take or when Caesars will begin the process. The company has not tried to get a permit that is required to begin the process and a spokesman for the company has stated Caesars is proceeding with the process approved by the court.
The Harrah’s property in Tunica closed in June of 2014 and 1,000 jobs were lost. The property was first opened in 1996 as the Grand Casino Tunica and was a popular spot for many years.
