In California, the Sycuan Casino And Golf Resort has announced the line-up for this year’s Summer Of Sycuan concert series taking place in its Live And Up Close theatre.
Operated by the Sycuan Band Of The Kumeyaay Nation, the El Cajon venue is to open its musical extravaganza with three evening performances from legendary Motown singer Smokey Robinson from July 26 before comedy frontman George Lopez follows with four shows from July 29.
The casino resort located some 25 miles east of San Diego revealed that disco legends KC And The Sunshine Band will subsequently hit the Live And Up Close stage for consecutive show nights on August 4 and August 5 while it plans to announce additional Summer Of Sycuan acts “soon”.
“Seeing legendary musical and comedic acts of this caliber in our Live And Up Close venue will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our guests,” John Dinius, General Manager for the Sycuan Casino And Golf Resort, said in a statement. “With only 450 seats in the venue, the performance value of the shows is priceless and rivals any other venue in town. Summers in this town are truly incomparable; we are excited to add to all the truly unique experiences happening in San Diego over the next few months.”
