The Baha Mar Casino is currently playing host to the 2019 partypoker Live Caribbean Poker Party. The series began on the 15th of November and will continue through the 24th. With $15,000,000 in guaranteed prize money, pros and amateurs alike are out in full force to try and earn some of the cash. One of the more lucrative events of the series just finished up, with Super High Roller tournament. The event had a $25,500 buy-in and with 125 entries, created a prize pool of $3,125,000. It was Adrian Mateos who claimed the first-place win, outlasting several top players to claim the title.
Tournament Details:
The event had an eight-player final table, with players dropping one by one until only three remained; Andrian Mateos, Brock Wilson and Christopher Fraser. Eventually all-in, Fraser would be knocked out in 3rd place after losing to the top pair held by Wilson. This would send the tournament to the heads-up round.
With the hand win against Fraser, Wilson gained a huge chip advantage. He held 105 million to Mateos’ 18.5 million. Seemingly, the event win would go to Wilson. However, that was not the case. Mateos began to chip away at his stack, pulling almost level, before Wilson agreed to a deal with his competitor.
The deal was cut, giving Wilson a higher payout of $619,536 and Mateos $520,464. The two then flipped for the poker tournament finish and the flip went in Mateos’ favor, giving him the title win.
The 2019 partypoker LIVE! continues at the Baha Mar Casino, with several events still on the schedule. Still to go are Event #14 a Pot Limit Omaha event as well as remaining days of the Main Event, a closer event and the Super High Roller Finale.
