Las Vegas-based casino operator Affinity Gaming recently announced that Paige Lion has taken over as the company’s new chief information officer (CIO) and vice president of information technology (IT).
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that, Michael Silberling, Chief Executive Officer for Affinity Gaming, said in a statement that its decision to hire the Louisiana State University alum is part of its effort to reshuffle its executive team, to keep up with “the demands of today’s digital age” and focus on profitability, analytics and customer data.
According to the report, Silberling said, “We have become more of a data-driven company in marketing and customer service, which helps us to better customize our programs to meet the needs of existing customers and grow our business.” The CEO added that Lion’s expertise and extensive background will help the company to enhance its IT operations.
Lion, whose previous employers include Caesars Entertainment as a senior project manager, will reportedly be tasked with the business imperative of implementing large scale IT-related initiatives for Affinity and its 11 casinos located in Iowa, Colorado, Missouri and Nevada, according to the statement.
Lion most recently worked as JP Morgan Chase’s vice president senior program manager in Tampa, Florida.
Affinity Gaming, formerly Herbst Gaming, was acquired late last year by Z Capital Partners, private equity management arm of asset management specialist Z Capital Group, LLC.
