Starting this Friday, the APT Kickoff Vietnam 2018 will begin. The Pro Poker Club of Vietnam will be hosting the APT stop from January 19th until the 28th. Players will visit Ho Chi Minh to take part in the many events on the schedule, including SNGs on demand, head hunter events, a charity event and of course, the much-anticipated Main Event.
According to the Asian Poker Tour, the opening event will attract poker players from Asia as well as from around the world. Several players have already confirmed that they will be competing this year in Vietnam including Tetsuya Tsuchikawa, the 2017 APT Player of the Year. The poker pro managed to earn seven APT titles in 2017 and looks to continue his success this year. Also in attendance will be the 2nd and 3rd place finishers of the APT Player of the Year Race, Yoichi Uesugi and Iori Yogo.
The APT Vietnam stop will begin with Event #1, the NLH Welcome Event. This tournament will have a buy-in of VND 4,400,000. Event #2 will be a charity event titled Ante Up for Charity, with a VND 3,000,000 buy-in. The Main Event will start on January 21st at 1pm with Day 1A, with a VND 16,500,000 buy-in. Players will find this event has a guaranteed prize pool set at 3,000,000,000 VND.
In total, the APT Kickoff 2018 Vietnam will include the Main Event plus 18 Side Events. Buy-ins of the side events will range in price from VND 3 million to NVD 32 million.
Once the Vietnam stop is complete, the Asian Poker Tour will be moving to the Philippines for the APT Philippines Championships 2018. The Resorts World Manila will play host with events scheduled from March 21st until April 2nd.
