American slot and gambling devices innovator, Aruze Gaming America Incorporated, has announced the signing of a deal that will see it utilize technology from Walker Digital Table Systems to power a new range of radio-frequency identification (RFID) gaming chips.

Las Vegas-headquartered Aruze Gaming America Incorporated used an official Tuesday press release to reveal that it inked the agreement with Walker Digital Table Systems on June 20 and is to now use the firm’s PJM3.0 RFID technology in the new line of chips, which are scheduled to be introduced from October.

The Vegas brand detailed that the PJM3.0 innovation is set to give it the ability to offer read rates of up to 1,200 chips per second, which it declared will be ‘three times faster than any other chip-reading technology,’ as it continues efforts to further expand its product offerings.

“As we expand our business, we’re partnering with the best companies in these new areas [and] we are excited about the potential that these relationships unlock,” read a statement from Eric Persson, President for Aruze. “We intend to be a major market disruptor with the best technologies and prices that are often half that our competitors are charging. Walker Digital Table Systems’ PJM3.0 technology coupled with our chips allows us to provide a turnkey product to our customers.”

For his part, Neil Crossan, Chief Commercial Officer for Las Vegas-based, Walker Digital Table Systems, stated that he was ‘very pleased’ to have signed the recent deal before proclaiming that the agreement is set to open ‘up a world of possibilities’ for customers of Aruze.

“PJM3.0 is the RFID protocol that supports table gaming applications in the world’s largest casinos, delivering unmatched game protection, data and performance,” read a statement from Crossan.
