After closing its Napoleons Casino and Restaurant Ecclesall Road venue in January, British casino operator A&S Leisure Group Limited has now reportedly sold its Napoleons Casino London property to an entity known as Mayfair Casino Limited.
According to a Friday report from G3Newswire, Mayfair Casino Limited is the latest entrant to the London casino scene after purchasing the small venue located near the center of the capital’s tourist-packed Leicester Square for an undisclosed amount.
George Polhill, Managing Director for Mayfair Casino Limited, reportedly called Napoleons Casino London ‘one of the West End’s most well-known and long-established entertainment venues’ that is regularly visited by after-work and pre-theater crowds as well as those interested in gaming.
“Our immediate priority is to make the transition to new ownership as smooth as possible and ensure that casino members and guests continue to have the same high-level customer experience,” Polhill reportedly told G3Newswire. “It is an exciting time in our business and we are thrilled to join the dynamic London casino market.”
For its part, A&S Leisure Group Limited still operates casinos in the British cities of Sheffield, Hull, Leeds and Bradford and previously declared that it plans to start construction on a new Manchester gambling venue later this year after earlier acquiring a suitable site.
“Napoleons Casino London has operated in Leicester Square for nearly 30 years, during which time it has proven to be an unqualified success story,” Dave Allen, Chairman for A&S Leisure Group Limited, reportedly told G3Newswire. “Much of the credit goes to the casino’s loyal and hardworking staff and we wish Mayfair Casino Limited the best of luck with its new acquisition.”
