Asian Poker Tour CEO Chris Parker announced the APT has increased the guaranteed prize pool for the Macau leg of the event. Heady with the success of the beginning 6-day tournament in Manila, the new prize pool for Macau of $1,500,000 U.S. dollars will ensure that the winner will take home about half a million dollars. This makes it the largest guaranteed prize ever for an Asian poker event. In contrast, the champion of the Manila leg, David Saab of Australia, took home only $280,000 with the second place winner, Korean Chris Roh, picking up $150,000. The APT Macau will run August 26-31 at the StarWorld Hotel and Casino.
