Twenty-eight years ago, Darling Harbour played host to the Australasian Gaming Expo. The event returned to the area for the 2017 event and has seen great success within the halls of a new exhibition center. During the AGE 2017, 246 exhibitors were on hand, which is sixty more than the event saw in 2016.

According to agbrief.com, the Expo was hosted by the Gaming Technologies Association whose CEO Ross Ferrar stated that the event’s return to Darling Harbour was a success, with it being the most successful in the history of the Australasian Gaming Expo.

Ferrar pointed out that the event saw more exhibitors thanks to the well-designed loading docks located at the new venue. Exhibitors told the CEO that the event’s bump-in ran smooth and the facility was superior to any other venue that they had experienced.

When comparing visitor numbers, the AGE 2017 saw a 19% increase from last year with 8,099 individuals in attendance. Once inside, visitors could take advantage of Digital Show Bags, a first for the Expo. The new digital option allowed visitors to transfer information about the exhibitors they visited to their mobiles.

According to Ferrar, the Digital Show Bags were a great success as exhibitor stands saw a total of 11,967 badge taps within the first two days of the Expo. Daily digest emails were sent to those who tapped at almost 4,000.

The Expo took place from August 15th to the 17th at the International Convention Centre Sydney, Australia. The new venue is a self-contained facility which allowed all events of the Expo to take place on-site. This includes the Industry Leader’s Dinner. Ferrar commented that the dinner featured outstanding food as well as ‘impeccable service’.

Hospitality and gaming info was provided during the Expo with seven complimentary seminars on offer covering such topics as Cash Management, Venues, Research and Technology. New seminar rooms were located on-site providing the latest technology which helped to provide the best information to guests.

Visitors attended the Australasian Gaming Expo from around the world, with 26 countries represented. The United States, United Kingdom and Asia were among the most represented at the event. The Expo will run again next year from the 14th to the 16th of August.
