Sweden-based holding company Betsson AB (BETSB:Stockholm), has confirmed the appointment of Jesper Svensson as CEO of the firm’s operational subsidiaries.
Since September 2017, Jesper Svensson has served as acting CEO of the company’s operational subsidiaries. He has been with Betsson AB, which is listed on Nasdaq Stockholm Large Cap (BETS), since 2013.
Commenting on the appointment, Betsson AB CEO Pontus Lindwall said, “Jesper has extensive experience from the gaming industry and the passion and skills needed to lead Betsson’s gaming operations. I look forward to working with Jesper and his team,” according to the recent press release (pdf).
Jesper Svensson said this about his newly appointed position, “The team and I have many opportunities and also challenges ahead. We have already made improvements to our ways of working in order to better leverage on the multi-brand model and the single platform.”
Betsson is an investor and manager of fast-growing companies within the online gaming industry and is one of Europe’s largest in online gaming. The company is headquartered in Malta, however, has offices in 12 locations with an operational staff of 1,900 who are of 50 different nationalities.
Founded in December 1963 by Bill Lindwall and Rolf Lundström, Betsson’s operating subsidiaries offer casino, sportsbook, poker, bingo and scratch cards via gaming licenses in eleven countries in Europe and Central Asia of more than 20 online gaming brands including Betsafe, Betsson, Casinoeuro and NordicBet.
