The Las Vegas Strip is set to offer a brand-new casino titled, Drew Las Vegas. The future casino now has a new CEO, after Poker Hall of Famer, Bobby Baldwin, was named for the position. Baldwin has experience in this position as he worked in a similar role for the CityCenter entertainment facility owned by MGM located on the Strip.

The 69-year-old has spent many years playing high stakes poker and working for major casino brands along the way in an executive role. It was last year that he left MGM Resorts and he has now moved on to this new role or the Drew.

The casino is an unfinished resort that was previously known as the Fontainbleau. It is located at the site of the former Algiers Hotel. The property was built up partially in 2007 but construction stopped by 2009 due to financial issues. For years, the property stood empty and uncompleted until new owners came in.

The Witkoff Group and Marriott International announced in 2018 that they planned to complete construction and would open a hotel and casino. They were the ones to hire Baldwin to serve as the first CEO and vice chairman for the hotel. CEO of Witkoff, Steve Witkoff, called Baldwin a transformation leader, and an individual who has unrivaled experience.

The Drew Las Vegas is expected to open by 2022. The Las Vegas property will be home to a 67-story hotel. The hotel will be named after Steve Witkoff’s son Andrew, who died of an overdose in 2011.
