Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa announced details of its 12th annual Borgata Poker Open tournament series, beginning with a $2 Million Guaranteed Big Stack No Limit Hold’em live streamed event on Tuesday, September 2, and concluding with the televised World Poker Tour ® (WPT®) Borgata Poker Open Championship slated for September 14–19. The $3,500 buy-in Championship No Limit Hold’em event features a guaranteed $3 million prize pool.

For the first time in the history of Borgata poker, the tournament will offer two live streamed broadcasts through Borgata’s YouTube channel. Final table participants in the $2 Million Guaranteed Opening Event as well as those playing in Event 10; the $1 Million Guaranteed Big Stack No Limit Hold’em Re-Entry will compete live at Borgata with a feed capturing all of the action for audiences worldwide to view.

The featured WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship has experienced some of the largest fields in the history of the World Poker Tour (1,189 in 2013, 1,181 in 2012 and 1,313 in 2011). Past champions include Benjamin Hamnett, Bobby Oboodi, Dwyte Pilgrim, Olivier Busquet, Vivek Rajkumar, Roy Winston, Mark Newhouse, Al Ardebili, Daniel Negreanu and Noli Francisco. The tournament is the first of four televised WPT events at Borgata during Season XIII and will be filmed from Day 1 through the final table and televised on FOX Sports Net.

In addition to the championship, this year’s 18-day series features a variety of exciting events including Deep Stacks, Six-Max, Bounty, Heads Up, Pot Limit Omaha, Omaha, and HORSE along with the $25,000 Guaranteed Borgata Ladies Championship and the inaugural Mike Sica Memorial Seniors (50+) event. On Saturday, September 13, Borgata will host a special Charity Series of Poker Tournament with proceeds going to the South Jersey Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity Atlantic County Chapter.

Borgata’s online poker site BorgataPoker.com will complement the upcoming tournament series by offering players the chance to compete for seats into the $2 Million Guaranteed Opening Event. Starting on August 24 and running through August 31, nightly satellites will be offered guaranteeing at least two seats into Event #1.
