Atlantic City is still in limbo with regards to tax appeals. The city requested an end to casino tax appeals, but the legislation is currently sitting in Trenton un-decided. While the city waits, Borgata and other casinos are still filing or will be filing petitions for 2015. They are appealing the 2015 tax assessment. Already the appeals have given $400 million in refunds since 2007, although some of those payments are also hanging in the balance. Borgata said they are going to file Monday in order to appeal 2015 taxes. Borgata is one casino that won an appeal in 2014. They also filed a lawsuit in March against the city regarding other funding matters related to tax money.
