From August 10th until the 14th, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino of Hollywood, Florida played host to their most anticipated event, the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open. The event offered up $3,000,000 in guaranteed prize money with a $5,250 buy-in and no limit hold’em single re-entry format. In the end, 914 players registered to compete in the poker tournament, with Brandon Eisen taking home the first-place prize.
Huge Prize Pool Guarantee:
With so many players competing, the guaranteed prize pool jumped quite a bit, providing just over $4.4 million split between those who managed to finish in the money.
Once the final table of the event was set, Eisen took a seat with the chip lead. Holding on to the majority of his chip stack, Eisen found himself easing to the heads-up round against Jeremy Ausmus.
Entering into Heads-Up Play:
Eisen had a nice lead when heads-up began, but Ausmus did not give in easily. It took 84 hands before the winner was named. On the final hand, Eisen called Ausmus all-in. Eisen held Q-J of diamonds with Ausmus holding K-5 off-suit.
According to the Seminole Hard Rock…
The board would fell Q-J-6-K-9 giving Eisen two pair and the win. The finish for Eisen was the best in his career when it comes to live poker tournament earnings.
