Asian news outlet GGRAsia is reporting that Lawrence Ho backed Tigre de Cristal will open in Russia’s Primorsky Krai, near Vladivostok before the end of year.
Late filings with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange Thursday indicated the change in date.
Tigre de Cristal would be the first of four known participants in the Promorye Gambling Zone. The assumed fifth, a Cypriot company is not found recently in Russian industry media.
A new listing, G1 Entertainment LLC, is mentioned in the filing, presumably replacing First Gambling Company of the East LLC which may have had some problems associated with participants or associates in the past, according to some reports.
Previous Russian language reports have indicated that a “soft launch” of the integrated resort’s inaugural phase would be used to test the facility’s readiness to engage business as well as comply with regulations.
With an untried regulatory regime and the Russian government’s seeming total control so far of information about their planned multi-trillion dollar entry into the world gambling market, details are scarce and opening dates are fluid.
