By the end of January, Tunica, Mississippi will be home to one less casino. Caesars Entertainment Corp. announced last week that they were closing their Tunica Roadhouse Casino in light of saturation within the local gambling market.
Hotel to Stay Open:
While the casino will no longer be in operation as of January 31st, the hotel that sits adjacent to the property will remain open. Around 150 employees will be affected in the closure. Caesars will still be operating a casino in the region with the Horseshoe Tunica.
For the employees who are losing their position within the gaming venue, Caesars has promised to provide assistance with job searching options and training. The company will also be providing the employees with preference for positions within other properties owned by Caesars including the Horseshoe Tunica.

Regional President of Caesars Entertainment’s Mid-South Division, Scott Barber, the next two months will see the Tunica Roadhouse Casino continue to operate in the same fashion as it has in the past. Visitors can expect the same great gaming, entertainment, hotel accommodations and service that is always provided by team members.
Barber commented further that Caesars will continue to be committed to the Tunica gaming market, and hope that guests will visit their new sports betting venue called The Book and stay within the Horseshoe Tunica’s recently renovated guest rooms.
Seven Casinos Remain:
When the Tunica Roadhouse Casino shuts down next year, it will leave only seven gaming venues remaining in Tunica. The Roadhouse was the smallest property in operation when considering floor space, according to information provided by the state gaming commission.
