The Seminole Tribe of Florida is interested in taking their casino to the next level by promoting to international travelers but they don’t have the room to do it yet. The Seminoles have provided an expansion plan that would provide additional space and includes a new hotel, but the plan has to be approved.
The tribe spoke with state leaders earlier this week to reveal their upcoming business strategy for the Seminole Hard Rock, which includes a plan to go global. Officials of the tribe stated during the presentation that the majority of patrons visiting the casino are locals from Orlando and Tampa Bay. The regional customers keep the property busy and the tribe has not been marketing nationally nor internationally due to not having the space to accommodate additional visitors.
The Seminole Tribe reiterated that the expansion plans will not be able to happen unless the leaders of the state renew the gaming compact that allows the tribes the exclusive rights to offer blackjack and other card games. The negotiations to renew the compacts have stalled. The expansion plans of the tribe includes a 16 story tower which would be located beside the casino and would house over 550 hotel rooms.
