After spending a little over $11.6 million in order to acquire German sportsbetting information website operator Dreamworx Online Limited in January, online performance marketing firm Catena Media has now announced the purchase of the domain at GG.co.uk for £2 million ($2.79 million).

Malta-headquartered Catena Media described GG.co.uk as a ‘strategically important site in the United Kingdom’ that focuses on horseracing before revealing that it intends to utilize the domain in order to strengthen its position within the British sportsbetting market.

The Maltese firm moreover portrayed GG.co.uk as a ‘strong and well-respected horseracing brand’ that generates typical quarterly revenues of approximately £150,000 ($209,500). It stated that the website has admirable search engine optimization rankings and a wide range of content and product offerings that it will use to enhance its other United Kingdom holdings such as its domain at BettingPro.com.

“Catena Media has a strong strategy for growth and an outspoken ambition to break into new online services,” read a Wednesday statement from Henrik Persson Ekdahl, the outgoing Chief Executive Officer for Catena Media. “It is our firm belief that this small yet strategic and very well-known site enjoys vast opportunities for growth. Catena Media will be the partner that delivers on these opportunities.”
