Global casino operator Century Casinos Inc. (NASDAQ: CNTY) will celebrate the grand opening of its Century Casino Bath, which overlooks the newly-developed Saw Close in the Georgian spa town of Bath in southwest England, on Friday, May 25 from 9pm.

Spanning three floors, each with popular card games and roulette, the casino will reportedly offer 35 slot machines, 18 gaming tables, 24 automated live gaming terminals and a luxury cocktail lounge complete with a balcony, which overlooks the Theatre Royal and Saw Close. Adding to the gaming amenities is the Beau Nash Suite, “an exclusive, elegant top floor room with its own balcony, available for private hire and gaming,” according to Century Casinos.

A mixed leisure development, Century Casino Bath will additionally include a four-star, 147-room Z Hotel and Zizzi, an Italian chain restaurant, according to news website Somerset Live.

Business Development Manager at Century Casino Bath, Kartini Sutoto, said: “All of us at Century Casino Bath are tremendously excited about welcoming the public to the opening of our casino from 9pm on Friday, May 25.

“The casino will be a fantastic new addition to the entertainment and nightlife of Bath and will offer facilities and an environment worthy of the already wonderful city,” said Sutoto.

Century promises the new development is “set to reconnect to its celebrated history as 18th century England’s gaming epicentre. Bringing a whole new dimension to entertainment in the city comes Century Casino, offering visitors a classic casino experience,” according to the website.

The entertainment facility suffered a setback soon after planning permission for the £19m project was granted by Bath and North East Somerset Council in March 2014 and construction work began in fall 2015.

Originally, to be operated by French firm Groupe Partouche in partnership with its casino operator Global Gaming Ventures (GGV) (Bath), after GGV pulled out in November last year, it was soon announced that Colorado Springs, CO-based Century Casinos Inc. would, after paying £600,000 for the license, be running the show.

Founded in 1992, Century Casinos, Inc. currently owns and/or operates casinos in the U.S. and Canada, operates casinos on a number of luxury cruise lines and holds a controlling 66.6 percent stake in Casinos Poland Ltd., owner and operator of six casinos located in international four and five-star hotels in Poland.

In a statement on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, the company announced its entrance into the Vietnamese gaming market after its Austrian subsidiary, Century Resorts Management GmbH, had acquired 51 percent of the outstanding common stock of Hong Kong-based Golden Hospitality Limited (“Golden”), for a total consideration of US$560,000.
