Donaco International is reporting that their Star Vegas Resort and Club in Poipet, Cambodia is doing quite well thanks to VIPs visiting the swanky venue. The financial year for Donaco ended on the 30th of June but the company just recently filed papers with the Australian Securities Exchange, this past Monday in fact, to report their performance for a three month time frame, ending on the 30th of September.

In the filing, the company stated that their new business in Cambodia, the Star Vegas Resort and Club is on track and pleasing to the owners. Donaco became the operator of Star Vegas back in July after a deal to purchase the casino was created in January. The venue was purchased for $360m and is considered the most luxurious of the nine venues for gaming in the area.

The VIP table gaming turnover for the Star Vegas was AUD 1.3b in the three month time frame, considered the September Quarter by the company behind the venue. This was a 43% increase on a year-on-year comparison. The gains are quite impressive over a short time span. The VIP table game revenues were just under A$44m with $29.5m going to junket commissions. Mass market tables created A$6.1m with the Star Vegas taking in a total of A$20.6m with table gaming. Electronic gaming was able to contribute A$10.3m with non-gaming options creating A$630k in revenues.
