While he may be 88, Doyle Brunson is far from ending his poker career. Known as Texas Dolly, Brunson is considered a poker legend and continues to play the game to this day, though his tournament playing has slowed down a bit over the years. This week, it was exciting to hear that Brunson has been named a World Poker Tour (WPT) ambassador and has plans to attend events and work on various promotions for the poker brand.
The Newest WPT Ambassador
Brunson is a great choice for the role as he has enjoyed a long career as a professional poker player. He will attend various WPT events and work with online partners to create different promotions as well as meet fans during live tournaments.
World Poker Tour CEO Adam Pliska commented on the recent partnership stating that Doyle Brunson has been with the WPT since the very beginning. He won the Legends of Poker in 2004 and joined the WPT Champions Club. Pliska was there to witness it all and is glad to be welcoming Brunson to the WPT family after all this time.
Brunson joins a long list of individuals that were recently added as an ambassador to the World Poker Tour. Since the start of Season XX, the WPT has added DJ Steve Aoki and poker vloggers Andrew Neeme and Brad Owen.
