This NFL season, Hall of Famer Drew Brees is transitioning to a broadcasting career via NBC Sports. As he makes the change, Brees will be part of the PointsBet team, having announced a new deal with the brand. PointsBet is the official sports betting partner of NBC Sports, so it makes sense that the relationship will now deepen as Brees contributes as a global brand ambassador.
Multi-Year Partnership
Brees is now a significant shareholder in PointsBet, taking on an equity stake as part of the multi-year deal. The former pro will star in original content as well as help create content for PointsBet. Brees will lead watch parties and lead the way with marketing and promotional materials.
The Hall of Famer commented on being added to the team by stating he is excited to be working with PointsBet.
“Sports betting is growing across the country and will positively impact sports engagement, and I am proud to be at the forefront alongside PointsBet and NBC Sports.”
CEO of PointsBet USA, Johnny Aitken, commented on Brees work ethic and great success in his career. The company now looks forward to collaborating with him over the next few years and integrate Brees within the PointsBet portfolio to complement the market-leading infrastructure and strategic approach the company uses in the sports betting industry.
With its NBC Sports partnership, PointsBet will be able to utilize the television and digital assets of the brand for promotional needs. The agreement between the two major brands sees NBC Sports providing PointsBet with year-round marketing and multi-platform media opportunities across its Regional Networks.
WNBA Deal
PointsBet is super busy setting up new deals across the US when it comes to the sports industry. Back in May, the brand announced a deal with the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). PointsBet was named the authorized gaming operator for the league.
The deal was the first involving a female professional sports league and adds to the long list of partners that PointsBet has added within a short time frame. The brand is already partnered with the National Basketball Association (NBA) and looks to only further its partnerships in other sports genres.
In speaking about the deal with the WNBA, Johnny Aitken said that the new relationship is another bold move for the sports league as it looks to grow in the sports betting world by connecting with top operators in the industry. Aitken praised the WNBA for its job in growing fan engagement and stated that PointsBet is excited to be adding to the process.
