The German Sports Betting Association (DSWV) and the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to underline and reinforce the common objectives of the two associations: the promotion of a regulated and secure sports betting market and the integrity of the sports betting operations.
The German Sports Betting Association (DSWV) represents many German operators who have recognized the need for a regulated and secure local market to prevent any operational or legal disturbances. Likewise, International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) represents the most prominent international operators and stands out to safeguard their common interests and integrity.
A new partnership:
As the two associations have the same functionality in different jurisdictions, they have agreed to join forces and form a partnership to add value to both associations. In this way, the two entities will be able to coordinate their actions aimed at regulated and secure sports betting operations and those related to the operational integrity of both German and international markets.
DSWV and IBIAI will get involved in common projects using each partner’s expertise or market-specific knowledge to promote the sports betting market in Germany. With the MoU having been signed, the experts from IBIAI are now available to assist the DSWV operators in developing strategies to approach customers and implement measures enabling the protection of customers, sports, and operators at all times.
Another step forward:
According to DSWV President Mathias Dahms, the partnership will strengthen and protect the market:
“The partnership between the German Sports Betting Association and IBIA is another welcome step forward for the German sports betting industry. With its many years of international experience and expertise in the field of sports integrity, the IBIA will support us in strengthening the regulated market and protecting it from manipulation. We, therefore, look forward to many joint projects and constructive cooperation.”
Close collaboration expected:
Khalid Ali, the IBIA CEO, is also aware of the German market opportunities and challenges:
“IBIA recognizes the important work that the DSWV has done over the years in transforming the German regulated sports betting market. That market transformation is ongoing and betting integrity is a key part of that discussion. Indeed, the market provides a number of important opportunities and challenges for both of our associations and their respective members. IBIA looks forward to working closely with the DSWV to improve and protect the German sports betting market for consumers, sports, and betting operators.”
