A slot player is reportedly celebrating this week after taking home over $1 million in cash courtesy of the El Cortez Hotel and Casino in downtown Las Vegas and one of its The Big Bang Theory games from developer Aristocrat Leisure Limited.
According to a report from local television broadcaster KTNV-TV, the player, who wishes to remain anonymous, initially deposited $20 in hopes of a substantial session on the machine over the weekend but became a millionaire in less than a minute after his first $2 spin hit the big jackpot.
“El Cortez Hotel and Casino is famous for having the “loosest” slot machines in downtown Las Vegas with lots of big jackpots but $1,149,718 is huge even by our standards,” Adam Wiesberg, Assistant General Manager for the El Cortez Hotel and Casino, told the broadcaster.
KTNV-TV reported that the small casino owned by businessman Kenny Epstein is the only Las Vegas venue to offer in excess of 200 coin-operated slots while these machines were recently certified by CDC Gaming Reports as being the Nevada city’s “loosest”.
