Polish sportsbook operator, Star-Typ Sport (STS), has reportedly announced that it intends to launch online operations in eleven European jurisdictions utilizing a platform from gambling and sportsbetting technology solutions firm, BetConstruct.

Licenses obtained:

According to a Friday report from CalvinAyre.com, the move from STS is due to see it exploit licenses from regulators in the United Kingdom and Malta in order to offer players in nations such as Slovenia, Iceland and Latvia a range of online casino and sportsbetting services as well as eSports and virtual sports products.

American possibilities:

Mateusz Juroszek, Chairman for STS, used an official Friday press release to explain that the move will initially involve his firm targeting the significant expatriate Polish communities in the United Kingdom, Norway and Germany before moving on to other markets such as Spain and Italy. The executive also noted that the operator may even take advantage of the large Polish-speaking populations in cities such as Chicago to bring its services to several American states.

“In the first stage of our presence abroad, we want to focus on the two million Poles that are abroad. Our brand awareness among these people is extremely high, so our goal is to take advantage of this significant competitive advantage.”

Growing online power:

STS was established as a land-based bookmaker in 1997 but today controls approximately half of the Polish online sportsbetting market. It moreover explained that around four-fifths the operator’s $628.27 million in revenues last year came from iGaming while the firm has continued to grow its local brand recognition via sponsorship deals with several soccer teams including top-flight side Jagiellonia Bialystok.
