Just a day away from unveiling its boldest and most innovative line-up yet at ICE, and Evolution Gaming has announced that it will launch in South Africa after having received a national manufacturer license from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board (WCGRB).
The license will enable the Stockholm-headquartered supplier of Live Casino solutions to roll out its products and those of recently acquired live dealer gaming provider, Ezugi, to licensed gaming operators in the southernmost country in Africa.
Ezugi acquisition:
Announced in November 2018, the deal to acquire the live dealer software provider by Evolution increased its European footprint and accelerated up growth in key markets. The Riga-headquartered provider was founded in 2012 and now operates nine studios with 20 games, and has partnered with more than 100 operators around the world.
In a statement in an official press release, Chief Executive Officer for Evolution, Martin Carlesund, said…
Established presence:
“We are delighted to have received this licence and look forward to opening up our world-leading live dealer games portfolio to operators and players in South Africa. Thanks in large part to the great experience already gained in this market by our Ezugi subsidiary, we are entering a really exciting new vertical in this region.
“Our world-leading live dealer solutions, and new live event betting solutions too, will be available not only on desktop, tablet and smartphone but also in retail betting shops.”
Long-term potential:
Also commenting on the expected benefits of entering the SA market, founder and Chief Executive Officer for Ezugi, Kfir Kugler, added…
“There is long-term potential in the regulated South African market to deliver Evolution-powered live dealer games and fixed odds solutions to operators and to bring players the most entertaining live games and live Game Show games available in the world, alongside exciting new betting products.”
Other January notables:
January was a busy month for Evolution, having been selected by French casino operator Groupe Partouche to launch online Live Casino services in Switzerland’s regulated market and at the same time launching Lightning Baccarat, the third game in its award-winning Lightning family.
Billed as “an exciting new take on classic Baccarat,” the new Lightning game combines live play with high-payout RNG multipliers and is part of the provider’s line-up of new releases for ICE 2020 set to kick off tomorrow at ExCel London.
EGR Nordics accolades:
Also adding to the month’s accomplishments, for the third consecutive year, Evolution was crowned Casino Content Supplier of the Year at the EGR Nordics Awards 2020 held on Jan 28 in St. Julian’s, Malta.
After the award presentation, Chief Commercial Officer for the company, Sebastian Johannisson, said…
“Winning this award three times in a row is a real honour. It has been another remarkable 12 months for Evolution, in which we released more titles than ever before, offering our operators’ players even more superb Live Casino classics and Game Show style games.”
“We have also seen the expansion of our Malta studios, which has enabled us to have an even stronger presence on behalf of our licensees serving the Nordics region, offering more localised tables and bespoke content. This award goes to our dedicated and hardworking team,” Johannisson added.
