North American top-tier online gaming operator, FanDuel, launched a new platform last week to enable its customers to use a single account to access parimutuel betting on horse racing, as well as traditional sports book wagering. This launch makes FanDuel Sportsbook the first US sportsbook to offer this feature.
Ongoing investments:
FanDuel uses this development measure to continue investments in customer experience, which are in line with the company’s commitment to introducing a new generation of horse racing fans. The upgraded platform has a wide range of features to meet the upcoming audience’s demands.
FanDuel TV feature:
FanDuel Group is an innovative sports-tech entertainment supplier present in 50 states and with around 17 million customers. It is a subsidiary of Flutter Entertainment plc, the world’s largest sports betting and gaming operator. In September 2022, it launched FanDuel TV to re-brand its TVG network and focus exclusively on horse racing, with additions of sports and sports betting content.
Greatest sports betting content:
FanDuel TV broadcasts racing from Churchill Downs, Santa Anita, Del Mar, Keeneland, Gulfstream Park, and several other major US and international racing venues. Both FanDuel TV and FanDuel+ are distributed on linear cable television as the first linear/digital networks dedicated to sports wagering content and delivering more live sports programs than any other network in America.
Betting on Kentucky Derby available::
FanDuel TV will now stream racing coverage and other racing content for which the New York-based operator has betting rights. Its sportsbook customers will be able to follow live horse racing over the entire year from top tracks across the U.S., as well as bet on the Kentucky Derby for the first time via the integrated platform in 2023.
New soft launch:
Before the innovation have been launched, FanDuel’s customers were asked to open a separate account. At the same time, they kept a separate wallet for parimutuel wagering on horse racing by the time of the successful launch of the merged wallet/single account feature. The feature is currently available for the operator’s customers in New York, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, West Virginia, Wyoming, Michigan, Colorado, and Virginia. The company intends to expand the merged feature to additional states early next year.
Enhancing sports experience:
Amy Howe, the CEO of FanDuel Group, briefly commented: “Horse racing is a big part of our DNA. This is a significant opportunity to expose a broader, engaged audience to the sport in a familiar environment.” FanDuel Group continues to use its portfolio of leading gaming and sports betting brands, as well as daily fantasy sports and TV/media to keep changing the way consumers engage with their favorite sports, teams, and leagues for mutual benefit.
