When the plan was announced to have the final leg of this year’s Asian Poker Tour a few months ago, it was meant as a bigger and better version of the event last held in 2006 with more players and a higher prize pool. Unfortunately, the APT made the announcement before getting actual approval from the Singapore authorities.
Despite several months of discussions with the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore and the Gambling Suppression Branch, there has been no response from the Singapore officials. APT co-founder Chris Parker has now announced that the APT had “made alternate plans to take it to another Asian city” which has yet to be named publicly.
