Reno may be getting a ground-up hotel-casino. This is significant because it would be the first one to be built here in decades.
A real estate and entertainment company from California, Elevation Entertainment, decided to take a risk and propose the building of a casino in this city.
The project is named the Firecreek Crossing Resort-Casino project, and it is projected to be built on South Virginia Street in Reno, on the corner of this street and Kietzke Lane. The location of the casino is situated across the convention center, which has an adjoining entrance to the Firecreek Shopping Center.
A lot of entertainment:
Besides the expected hotel-casino with a bar in the lobby, according to the initial plans, the casino will also contain a public park, restaurants, a food court, and a beer garden.
In current plans, everything is explained in detail, so we know that the casino will consist of 201 hotel rooms and suites, a 62.500 square-foot gaming floor, 1.250 slot machines, 40+ table games, which includes poker games too, and an extraordinary sports book.
The new casino is set to be built across 20 acres of land.
All that’s left to do is to wait for the city of Reno to consider the opening of the new facility. Plans have been submitted, and the decision is expected to be made soon.
Ryan Stone, co-owner and CEO of Elevation Entertainment, said: “When thinking about where to launch our next project, Reno was an obvious choice. Reno is one of the fastest growing cities in the country, so bringing a new entertainment destination with its already-recognized gaming industry and ideal location for building, we see this new and exciting project as appealing to the entire marketplace.”
Great place for tourists:
This casino will improve tourism in the city since it is going to enhance accommodations and lodging options both for tourists and business travelers. For the ones who seek entertainment and gaming options, they will also be available in the casino.
Stone added that this project would be a game changer for the entertainment industry in Reno. The city deserves and needs it – and people are going to be excited, especially when they see how much effort is was put into the design and details.
Masis Kevorkian, President and Owner at Elevation Entertainment, also commented on this new casino: “A gaming license is a privilege and we take that responsibility very seriously. We will strive to be true community partners and amplify what makes Reno-Tahoe a global destination for both leisure and businesses.
