Due to the coronavirus outbreak, live poker options have been few and far between. However, a new poker tour is hitting the circuit next month, offering players plenty of poker action along with a way to give back to charity. From October 2-4, the Sheraton Suites Chicago Elk Grove will host the first-ever Midway Poker Tour. There will be $100,000 in guarantees up for grabs and the tournament will operate as a charity event, helping children in the northern portion of Illinois.
Details About the Tour
The Midway Poker Tour will have a buy-in of $1,100. There will be two starting flights, with one taking place on October 2 and then again on the 3rd. Players will be given 30,000 in starting chips and the Day 1 levels will last only 30 minutes. By Day 2, players will find levels move every 40 minutes.
On Day 1A and 1B, the poker action will cease at Level 20. The players who have hung on will return to the felt on Day 2. This will be the final day and a winner will be crowned. Players can re-enter into the competition but if both flights remain, the player must take the bigger stack to Day 2.
An interesting aspect of this tour is the action will be live-streamed from the start to the finish. Before the tournament begins, the tour will offer up cash games so players can arrive early and go ahead and play if they so choose.
Pre-registration has already begun for the event. Players can visit the Mid-Way Poker Tour site and click the pre-registration button to sign up. A mask is required for participants as per the state COVID-19 regulations.
