American lottery and gaming machines innovator Scientific Games Corporation has congratulated the Florida Lottery after the service broke the nationwide record for a fourth consecutive time regarding weekly instant-win ticket sales.

The Las Vegas-headquartered developer used an official Monday press release (pdf) to detail that lottery aficionados in ‘The Sunshine State’ spent almost $149.81 million on scratchcards during the week that ended on March 1, which was some $23.5 million more than the previous high it set last year, to generate over $27.8 million for local educational programs.

Scratchcard success:

Scientific Games Corporation detailed that it creates, manufactures and manages almost all of the Florida Lottery’s instant-win games with the new record coming only six months after its partner had experienced an eighth consecutive year of record-breaking sales.

Sensational sellers:

The innovator pronounced that the new weekly record had been driven by the $28 million in sales experienced by the Florida Lottery’s new $30 The Fastest Road to $1 Million scratch-off games, which come complete with a $155 million top prize. It proclaimed that ‘other top sellers’ with seven-day aggregated results of $26.7 million had encompassed its 10X, 20X, 50X and 100X family of scratchcards featuring $1, $2, $5 and $10 price points with its entire portfolio of instant-win games accounting for approximately 69% of its partner’s total sales in 2019.

Prominent pioneer:

John Schulz, Instant Products Senior Vice-President for Scientific Games Corporation, used the press release to explain that his firm launched its first scratchcard game in 1974 and is now the world’s largest provider courtesy of partnerships with over 150 lotteries spread across the globe.
