Leading supplier of high-quality pictures, data and virtual content, Sports Information Services (SIS) Limited, has appointed former Ladbrokes retail operations director Dominic Matthews as Chief Operations Officer.
Matthews fills the newly-created role after having held a number of senior positions with Ladbrokes over a 26-year period including Retail Operations Director and Commercial Projects Director. In his new role as Chief Operations Director at SIS, Matthews will reportedly be responsible for all of the United Kingdom-based businesses’ commercial and operations teams, affecting alignment of its strategic direction as well as daily operational function efficiency.
SIS’s recently appointed Chief Executive Officer, Richard Ames, will be Matthews’ direct superior at the company. Ames said, “Dominic’s appointment to our senior management team is a major coup for SIS and I’m delighted to welcome him to the company,” And, “He brings a wealth of experience to the role having been an integral part of the betting industry for so many years.”
Ames added that having worked with Matthews during his time at Ladbrokes, he was confident that he [Williams] will be a valuable asset as the company looks to improve its operations. Ames said, “The newly-created role of COO is one of many changes at SIS recently, but these will allow us to develop a more customer-centric approach and maintain delivery of a very high quality of service.”
Having started at SIS this month, Matthews said, “I’m thrilled to be joining SIS and look forward to working with one of the industry’s most recognised brands.” He added, “After many years working on the operator side of the industry, I’m excited to be taking on this new challenge. My aim is continue delivering the highest quality service to customers, as well as supporting Richard’s new leadership of the business.”
The new appointment and resulting company restructure sees Paul Witten, the Commercial Director take on the role recently vacated by Ames, Product Director. And all members of the commercial team will be reporting to Sandra McWilliams, who joined SIS in May as Sales Director.
SIS Limited recently inked a deal with Paddy Power Betfair that will see it supply the online and retail sportsbetting and gaming operator with retail television channels featuring full Paddy Power TV branding for a more personalized in-shop sportsbetting experience. Through the deal, Paddy Power TV service become the first to utilize SIS Limited’s Complex Automated Production innovation.
