In western Canada, local casino operator Gateway Casinos and Entertainment Limited has announced that it has completed its purchase of Chances Casino Kamloops and is now responsible for the day-to-day operation of the venue.

Kamloops takeover:

The Vancouver-headquartered firm used an official Monday press release to declare that the ‘strategic acquisition’ means that it is now responsible for 26 properties spread across the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario as well as being ‘the sole gaming provider in Kamloops’ courtesy of its additional ownership of the nearby Cascades Casino Kamloops, which opened its doors in August of 2015.

Continuing expansion:

Gateway Casinos and Entertainment Limited explained that it bought Chances Casino Kamloops from the British Columbia Lottery Corporation and the Hart family of private investors while additionally stating that the deal ‘marks the latest step in’ an ongoing expansion project that has seen it grow its ‘footprint and product offering across Canada’ in order to give even more patrons access to its ‘proprietary casino and restaurant brands’.

Operator excitement:

Tony Santo, Chief Executive Officer for Gateway Casino and Entertainment Limited, detailed that the purchase means that his firm now employs approximately 8,600 people and is responsible for around 13,800 slots alongside some 429 gaming tables and about 561 hotel rooms. The executive furthermore proclaimed that the operator intends to continue making ‘significant investments in the communities’ in order to improve customer experiences and bring ‘hundreds of jobs and economic contribution to local economies’.
