This August, the online poker landscape is set to sizzle as GGPoker, the new custodian of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) brand, unveils the latest iteration of the WSOP Online series. Scheduled to run from August 18 through September 30, 2024, this festival marks the fourth consecutive year GGPoker has hosted the international component of the WSOP Online. With 33 bracelet events lined up, this edition is the largest to date, underlining its significant expansion and appeal.

The main event showcases an unprecedented prize pool:

As GGPoker reports, the highlight of the series is undoubtedly the online Main Event, the 28th in the series, which boasts a staggering $25 million guaranteed prize pool. This monumental event features a $5,000 buy-in and is set to captivate audiences when its final day’s action is broadcast live on September 24 via GGPoker.TV. This ambitious prize pool sets a new standard for online poker tournaments, reflecting both the growth of the game and GGPoker’s commitment to elevating the player experience.

Alongside the main attraction, the series promises more high-stakes excitement with two other events each offering $10 million guarantees. The first of these, Event #7, the $215 Mystery Millions, kicks off on August 26 and includes a thrilling $1 million top mystery bounty. The series concludes with Event #33, the $10,300 GGMillion$ High Rollers on September 30, ensuring a high-octane finish to the festival.

Series highlights and player engagement:

Other notable tournaments include:

– Event #2: $300 Gladiators of Poker, boasting a $2.5 million guarantee on August 19

– Event #22: $400 COLOSSUS, with a $4 million guarantee on September 16

– Event #23: $400 PLOSSUS, offering a $1 million guarantee, also on September 16

2024 also sees the return of the ‘Continental’ freerolls, albeit with a twist. Players are grouped by continent based on their registration country and can participate in ‘Continental Flipouts,’ with GGPoker dishing out an additional $3 million in these freerolls. An exciting new addition is the ‘Bracelet Standing’ freerolls, which pits countries against each other based on a points formula, adding another $1 million to the prize pool.

According to Poker.org, Daniel Negreanu, GGPoker’s Global Ambassador, expressed his enthusiasm about the upcoming series: “I am thrilled to unveil another exciting year of WSOP Online. This series is not only an opportunity to compete for WSOP Gold Bracelets but also brings players from different regions together to showcase their skills. It’s a unique chance for the global poker community to participate in the most prestigious online series and create truly unforgettable poker experiences!”

In addition to the high-stakes tournaments, GGPoker is offering a plethora of satellite tournaments, allowing players to qualify for bracelet events at a significantly reduced cost, with entries starting as low as $1. The comprehensive side-event schedule throughout the series ensures that all players, regardless of their bankroll size, can participate in the excitement of WSOP Online 2024.
