A little over three months after having its Swedish iGaming license revoked and online gaming operator, Global Gaming, has announced the signing of a deal that is to see its Ninja Casino brand re-launched for players in Scandinavia’s largest nation.
The Malmo-headquartered firm used an official Monday press release to detail that the new arrangement will allow the Viral Interactive Limited subsidiary of Finnish iGaming platform innovator, Finnplay Group, to take over the running of its Ninja Casino brand in Sweden via the domain at NinjaCasino.se.
Double duty:
Global Gaming explained that Viral Interactive Limited already holds an operating license from Sweden’s Spelinspektionen regulator and premiered its own online casino for the jurisdiction at NanoCasino.se in August. It additionally stated the updated alliance is to involve it providing Finnplay subordinate and NinjaCasino.se with ‘resources and expertise in marketing, customer experience and brand management’ although its colleague is to be ‘fully responsible for the operation and compliance’ of both domains.
Licensing difficulties:
Initially launched for players in Sweden in January, NinjaCasino.se was subsequently forced to close in June after the Spelinspektionen identified numerous failings in its social responsibility and anti-money laundering controls. The regulator determined that the domain had not established appropriate deposit limits and had failed in its duty of care by not contacting players who had lost significant amounts of cash.
Prospective promise:
Tobias Fagerlund, Chief Executive Officer for Global, used the press release to declare that he is ‘aware of Ninja Casino’s enormous value in the Swedish market’ and that his firm decided to partner with Finnplay Group so as not ‘to waste its potential.’
