During the summer months, one of the most popular poker tournaments offered is the Grand Poker Series. Hosted by the Golden Nugget, the event will now be even better with Poker Night in America coming on board. The event will have a buy-in of $1,675 and offer reentries, with the final table to be filmed and then aired on CBS Sports.
The event will begin at 11am on June 3rd and will consist of three starting flights. By the 6th day of June, the players who remain from all three flights will come together and compete. By the 7th, the final table will begin with five players vying for the first place finish.
Todd Anderson is the President of Poker Night in America, who stated in a press release that PNIA is looking forward to partnering with the Golden Nugget. The venue will be a great host for the cash games as well as the new show being produced by the company, The Final Table.
Not only will Poker Night in America be filming the big event but a high stakes cash game will also be taking place that is invite-only. This tournament will be filmed as well. For the main poker tournament, players will be given 30,000 in starting chips and see blind levels set at 40 minutes during the first day. On the days after, the blind levels will increase every hour. For the nine levels of game play, unlimited reentries are being offered.
The tournament will run at the same time as The Colossus of the World Series of Poker, with tournament organizers hoping the event will bring in a number of players who might exit early from the WSOP event.
