Grosvenor Casino Nottingham is expected to add a minimum of 20 new jobs to its existing workforce of 114 upon completion of its current £3.4m makeover, which is expected to wrap up in March, according to the Nottingham Post.

The casino is run by Grosvenor Casinos, which operates 53 gambling venues across the United Kingdom, is owned by owned by The Rank Group (LSE: RNK) and expects to significantly improve the gaming experience of punters.

Commenting on the refurbishment, the casino’s general manager Daren Brian reportedly said, “Not only will this investment allow us to provide an exceptional gaming experience for both new and existing customers, but it will also create important job opportunities for the local community.”

The layout of the casino, which is located at Maid Marian Way, will be configured so that the gaming area and leisure space is separate. The design will enable customers to break from gambling on the gaming tables or slot machines and enjoy live entertainment in an entirely different area of the casino.

Plans include an improved slots area, complete with integrated VIP machines, to be located in the main casino, along with five new gaming tables which will allow customers to choose from a wider variety of gambling. In addition, punters will be able to enjoy a light bites and drinks menu at a new contemporary bar, as well as complimentary Wi-Fi. The latter aimed at attracting customers for social get-togethers and business meetings.

Additionally, a new sports lounge with a VIP seating, a 100 inch TV screen, and a large stage will be added, according to the report.

Live gaming will be temporarily closed on Thursday, February 23, but the rest of the casino will be fully operational. The casino will celebrate its grand re-opening in April.
