iGaming provider, Hacksaw Gaming, has been granted a provisional license in West Virginia to enter the United States market for the first time. The company is excited about the event that marks “the start of a significant expansion into the US,” according to CEO, Marcus Cordes.
North American expansion:
Hacksaw Gaming builds scratchcards, slots, and games and provides a secure iGaming platform to the largest online gaming brands in more than 18 regulated markets. In line with its expansion strategy, the provider built its first North American connections in May 2022 when the company was awarded a license in Ontario.
With 73 casinos and more than 32 thousand slots and gaming machines available, the Ontario region is a preferred gambling destination and a secure option for newcomers to start their North American expansions from there. Hacksaw was no exception.
Testimony to quality:
After going live in Ontario, the company relies on the partnership with Light & Wonder to expand across the U.S. market still in Q1 2023. Hacksaw selected the experienced Las Vegas-headquartered partner to propel the distribution of its gaming content across the U.S.
According to the CEO, such an expansion shall be expected at the earliest opportunity as the major obstacle has been surpassed with the West Virginia provisional license granted to the company.
Cordes details the strategy: “This latest expansion comes after our licence approvals in Romania and the Isle of Man earlier in 2022, so we’re finishing the year just as strongly as we started it. Being granted this licence is testimony to the quality of our games portfolio and shows just how robust and engaging our content is.”
Market entry for increased footprint:
The company also reported that the provision of the West Virginia license followed a constant growth of the local licensed iGaming operators’ shares. As these increased in September and October by, respectively, 12 to 60 per cent in comparison to the same period last year, Hacksaw Gaming was allowed to enter the U.S. market for the first time.
The company now has the opportunity to increase its footprint in the U.S. and thus stimulate the overall industry’s growth.
Christine Bordeaux, Hacksaw’s SVP of Compliance North America, said: “We have an exciting strategy for the US and our team is focused on delivering yet more excellent and memorable products to delight that market.”
The first results of the company’s strategy are at hand now, with the full effect expected to be known as early as Q1 2023.
