In anticipation of the May 2018 opening of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, Hard Rock International is set to close their Hard Rock Café located on the Boardwalk in September. As the new owners of the former Trump Taj Mahal, Hard Rock International plans on opening the Hard Rock Café at their new casino location with a larger space for guests to enjoy.

The announcement was made on Thursday by Hard Rock International, with Bizjournals.com reporting that the new café will see more than 100 employment positions, with 55 to be filled by those who already work at the current Atlantic City location. Employees of the Hard Rock Café on the Boardwalk will be invited to continue working through the closing date and be provided compensation through the 1st of November.

Current employees were given top choice of open positions for the other restaurants in the area owned by Hard Rock as well as being considered for positions within the new venue when it opens. The Atlantic City Hard Rock Café first opened 20 years ago on the Boardwalk and has been a staple in the area ever since.

The Boardwalk location is set to close on September 30th and move to a larger location within the former Taj Mahal, offering 400 seats, an improved stage area and have access to the beach.

Hard Rock International plans on spending $500 million in the rebranding and renovation of the property in Atlantic City. A liquidation sale has been ongoing within the property as the new owners look to do away with the former design and move on to a Rock ‘n’ Roll theme that the Hard Rock brand is known for.
