Currently under construction next to the Macau Jockey Club, the Macau Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel no longer plans to include a casino on-site. In the original plans announced in 2013, the $350 million project would include just over 53,000 square feet of space reserved specifically for gaming space. However, promoters of the hotel have now announced the property plans for a casino have been dropped, according to local media.

On Wednesday, a representative for the Yoho Group Ltd, Aaron lu, stated that the firm had reconsidered their original plans and will now move on without the gaming facility. The opening date for the Macau Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel has been scheduled for the first half of next year and will include 370 guest rooms. The five star property is located near Cotai which is considered the Las Vegas Strip of Macau.

The property will be focusing on hospitality with the dropping of the casino, with nearby competition halting the casino plans. Lu stated that there are already big casinos nearby and Macau Hollywood would not be able to compete. The scale of their hotel cannot compare, but can use the five start experience as a focus to bring in customers and go in a different path for success.

Visitors to the 12 story property will be able to enjoy scenic views of the sea or the Macau Jockey Club racing court from one of the lovely guest rooms.
