UK-based multinational gaming company, International Game Technology PLC (“IGT”) (NYSE: IGT), has reportedly become the first gaming supplier to gain responsible gaming accreditation for its lottery and land-based casino segments from the Global Gambling Guidance Group (G4).
Experts in the field of responsible gaming and problem gambling, the aim of G4 is to lessen the impact of problem gambling. Member of the G4 Board of Directors, Pieter Remmers, said, “IGT has successfully proven its commitment to responsible gaming by integrating effective features in its products that assist operators with minimizing harm and preventing problem gambling,” according to the news release. He went on to say, “We commend IGT for its leadership, and congratulate the Company for being the first vendor to receive G4 accreditation for its land-based casino and lottery segments.”
IGT Chief Executive Officer North America Gaming and Interactive, Renato Ascoli, said, “IGT partners with gaming operators around the world to provide innovative technology and services, and it’s our responsibility to create solutions that help our customers protect their players.” Ascoli added, “IGT prides itself as an industry pioneer, and the G4 certification allows us to transparently demonstrate our leadership in this important topic.”
IGT was independently assessed by G4 to obtain certification and it confirmed that the producer of slot machines and other gaming technology complies with G4 requirements of providing players with access to specific responsible gaming tools, such as responsible gaming information screens, self-assessment test, budget setting suggestions, session limits and others, on systems and gaming machines.
